Corrections Policy

Last updated: 23 September 2026

Ilẹ̀ Abínibí aims to publish accurate and responsibly sourced information.

We recognise, however, that mistakes can occur in journalism and publishing.

What We Correct

We may correct:

  • Factual errors
  • Incorrect names
  • Incorrect dates
  • Incorrect figures
  • Incorrect quotations
  • Misleading statements
  • Attribution errors
  • Other significant inaccuracies

Minor typographical or formatting errors may be corrected without a formal correction notice when the change does not affect the meaning of the article.

How to Report an Error

If you believe an article contains an error, contact us through the Contact Us page.

Please provide:

  1. The title or URL of the article
  2. The specific statement that is incorrect
  3. The information you believe is correct
  4. A reliable source or evidence supporting your correction

The more specific the information provided, the easier it is for us to review the issue.

Our Review Process

We may review the original source, supporting evidence, relevant records and other available information before deciding whether an amendment is appropriate.

Submitting a correction request does not guarantee that a correction will be made.

Significant Corrections

Where a significant factual error materially affects the meaning of an article, we may add a correction note or otherwise indicate that the article has been corrected.

Updates

When an article develops after its original publication, we may update the article to reflect new information.

An update is not necessarily a correction.

Good-Faith Requests

We welcome good-faith correction requests.

Requests intended only to suppress lawful reporting, opinion or criticism may not result in a change.
